The Show Me State: Missouri
It was at the end of the 1500s that the Europeans came and explored the area. In 1848, the Treaty of Guadalupe Hildgo would end the war between Mexico and the U.S and shortly after, Colorado ceded to the U.S. The state would have newcomers arriving in the masses after gold was discovered here in 1848.
As the U.S. government forced the Native Americans out of their land in what is now Louisiana, many came to this area to set up home, known as the Plains Indians. During 1860 to 1880, the Plains Indians and the white man settlers would fight over this land.
In 1875, Colorado joined the union, making it the 38th state. When it comes to land mass, it is the 8th largest state in American, abundant in natural resources, which is what attracted its first settlers – the Pueblo people.
